The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Arthritis and Rehabilitation (LBI AR) conducts research into the causes, mechanisms and consequences of musculoskeletal disorders, with a particular focus on osteoarthritis (OA), pain and rehabilitation. Our aim is to contribute to improving the health and quality of life of people with arthritis and other musculoskeletal disorders through excellent research.
Our research spans the spectrum from basic molecular and cellular research, through translational research, to clinical and patient-centred outcome research. By closely linking these areas, we gain new insights into disease mechanisms and develop innovative approaches to prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
For committed students and early-career researchers (BSc, MSc, PhD), we offer the opportunity to contribute to an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented research environment.
