Reha-Zentrum Gröbming

The Gröbming site, established in collaboration with the Austrian Pension Insurance (PV), serves as a platform for conducting applied rehabilitation research at the Rehabilitation Center Gröbming. Research activities primarily focus on patient populations with lower limb amputations, neurological disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions, which constitute the center’s primary areas of clinical and scientific expertise. In the domain of amputation rehabilitation, comprehensive outcome assessments are performed across various age groups to evaluate improvements in mobility, functional capacity, and gait characteristics. Systematic routine data collection enables robust longitudinal analyses, with a current database comprising over 1,000 patients. In the field of neurological rehabilitation, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Arthritis and Rehabilitation (LBIAR) has significantly contributed to the scientific validation and clinical implementation of Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT). Current efforts are directed toward the evaluation of robot-assisted therapeutic interventions, focusing on their clinical integration and accompanying scientific monitoring. A further area of investigation involves the medical occupational rehabilitation (RehaJet®) program. This includes a structured evaluation of both the outcomes and implementation processes, ensuring its evidence-based integration into routine rehabilitation practice.
