Maisa Omara, studied Dental and Oral Medicine and obtained her master’s degree in Dental Public Health. Later she had her two years intensive training in applied epidemiology from the Field epidemiology training program (FETP) with the CDC, USA and worked as a trainer and mentor in the same program. She was a temporary consultant at the World Health Organization (WHO) for implementing and leading international public health tasks. Maisa Omara is a dentist, public health professional, and having expertise in research methods, outcomes research, psychometrics, and quality of life research. She is combining diverse international experiences from Africa, Middle East, North America and Europe. Currently she is working at the Institute for Outcomes Research, CeMSIIS, Medical University of Vienna (MUW) where she is also enrolled in the PhD program for public health. She is also a key researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Cluster for Arthritis and Rehabilitation. Maisa Omara has been recently awarded the 2021 Women in Science Promising Talent Award in the postgraduate category from the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), in addition  she was awarded the PhD student of the month from the MUW. She has also reviewed numerous articles in scientific journals, thereby contributing to the scientific excellence and quality of research.
